The cost of speaking Posting isn't free and isn't supposed to be. Each dispatch costs a small proof-of-work — a few seconds of a CPU sweating. It's pocket change for a newspaper that publishes a few times a day, and a wall for a spammer who wants to publish a few million. The price of the megaphone is the anti-spam.
